brothers...tweet me!
Ok, so I signed up for twitter and tried to 'follow' my little brothers (21 and 16) with very little luck. What does the 21 year old call to tell me? "Sis, you're not doing it right." And the funny thing is, he's not sure he's doing it right either! Now if we could catch up to the 16 year old I'm sure he could give us a few lessons. I've tried Facebook, gone through many of the other tutorials and zooming to the end.

Thing 21??? Not there yet
Ok, so the weeks have slipped by me and the end is upon us... so much to do, so much to do. Just to catch up on the very last thing I did, the image sites were quite a kick. I really enjoyed the image chef and was quickly passing along hearts full of thoughts. Flickr is a site I've used briefly before turning to Snapfish for photo albums. I have yet to add tags, but it will be helpful especially when the pictures start to pile up.Now onto the rest. It will be a marathon of things.

thing #7
Tried Wikia and maybe I'm crazy but there was nothing intuitive about the process at all. I'm going to try another wiki and see if I have better luck.

oops forgot to chat about thing 6
I tried them, shared my new skills with some of the 'young' staff members and they were impressed! :) so much so they tried it on their own. Now if I can just keep these things straight in my head.

delicioso!
Ok, that's near the limit of my spanish skills. Nonetheless, I'm really liking the idea of Delicious. It's like taking your own personal computer with you without the extra weight. This is potentially a great tool for patrons whose one computer is the library's, one that restricts their ability to personalize anything. Delicious is a great way for them to be able to log in and access their favorites without the hassle of finding them over and over again.
Personally, I love it because I can do the same, take my sites with me instead of wondering which staff computer has my favorites on it. Finding good craft sites is great until that little button is gone and you can't remember what it was exactly. And as often as we get hit by viruses, those favorites could be deleted anytime. Thing 5 is looking good. Thanks.

google boogle
It's feeling a bit jumbled, these things. I have succeeded at Thing 4 but I'm still looking at all the open windows wondering where did I start? Adding subscriptions seemed fairly simple, but somehow the Google site looks so unorganized, maybe I need color coding :) Nonetheless, having the latest of many blogs feeding into one place is quite convenient. Now onto the next thing...
An afterthought: just looked up "boogle", didn't know it actually had a purpose. Nice little quotes. I would link you to it, but it's not letting me! I tried the 'insert link' button but no luck, any tips?

Thinking Commodore 64
I'm already counting down! Here I go, jumping in blurry eyed hoping I'll get this tech stuff in focus. I can't think of technology without remembering my Commodore 64, playing Wizard of Wor. Even my grandmother was hooked. She'd come home after midnight, still in her nurse's uniform, and next thing you know Wizard of Wor was singing in my sleepy ears.
Well, things certainly have advanced since then and now we're communicating in all sorts of creative ways on the web. Many ways I have yet to discover, and so here I am inviting homework into my life once again. I'm not totally sure what I've signed up for but I do know that it should bring me a little closer to being in the loop. I can't wait to have deep intellectual conversations about technology, ok really I am not that ambitious. Any progress will do and I'm positive it will happen over the next several weeks.
